Two Year Old Program
2-3 Year Old's
“Our Two-Year-Old Program offers a balance of structure and routine with self-exploration, aiding children in developing their skills and a love of lifelong learning.”
Program Insight
The two-year-old program at The Learning Tree offers young children meaningful opportunities to learn by exploring the world around them. At this age, children are rapidly developing self-help skills and beginning to assert their independence in everyday interactions. Our teachers support this growth by creating a safe and nurturing environment where children can confidently engage with their surroundings and with one another. We emphasize child-directed activities that encourage hands-on exploration, social interaction, and problem-solving. Through these experiences, children learn not only from their successes but also from their challenges, building resilience, confidence, and a foundation for lifelong learning.
Teacher’s Approach
Our two-year-old educators at The Learning Tree take a hands-on, supportive approach that encourages independence and exploration. They understand that children at this age are developing important self-help skills and beginning to assert themselves in new ways. With patience and warmth, teachers create a safe, nurturing environment where children feel secure enough to take risks and try new things. They thoughtfully plan child-directed activities that allow for meaningful exploration, peer interaction, and early problem-solving. Teachers guide children through both successes and challenges, helping them build confidence and resilience. This approach lays the groundwork for a love of learning and supports each child’s unique developmental journey.
Environment
The learning environment in the two-year-old program at The Learning Tree is designed to be safe, nurturing, and rich with opportunities for exploration. Classrooms are thoughtfully arranged to support independence, with accessible materials that invite hands-on learning and discovery. Children are encouraged to make choices, interact with peers, and engage in play that fosters curiosity and creativity. The space promotes self-help skills, social interaction, and problem-solving through child-directed activities. Gross motor development is supported daily on our large, safe playground, which is equipped with ample developmentally appropriate toys and materials that encourage movement, coordination, and active play. This environment helps build confidence, resilience, and a strong foundation for future growth.
